If you want something bad enough, Sweat for it.

On this day I remember the story of a certain young man in Mombasa County, who when in Form 2 stayed out of school for a year due to lack of School fees,he joined his now late father,at that time (mtu wa mjengo) on daily hustles.By the grace of God he managed to go back to high School and finished successfully, thanks to his Dad's encouragement,Baptist Church and friends who donated uniform. As an orphan he took up the big responsibility of leading his two brothers to the promised land.He tried out teaching as an Untrained Teacher - UT at Kiembeni Baptist Primary school.Earning Kes 500 and with only one trouser (Part of his former school uniform)
He could not criticize his parents for hoping that he would never experience poverty.

They had been poor themselves, and he had since been poor, and I quite agree with him that it is not an ennobling experience. Poverty entails fear, and stress, and sometimes depression; it means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships. Climbing out of poverty by your own efforts,  is indeed something on which to pride yourself,What he feared most for himself at his age was not poverty, but failure. The certainty of his big dreams contradicted his reality on ground. "LOBOKO YA MONSANTO" - Meaning "hand of God",He wrote these words on a piece of wood at his uncles Carpentry workshop which he manned during the day.His DREAM was to work for a reputable company and get dropped by a staff bus after work, just like he witnessed every evening.ACTION - He purposed to be at the bus stop every day at exactly 5PM ,equipped with a pen and a piece of paper. He noted the addresses of all those staff buses that he saw after which he drafted dozens and dozens of application letters, clearly stating that he was inexperienced and would like a chance to have an "on job training" which will culminate to a job.He got the Chance, Yes in the midst of a lot of regret letters was a chance to train as a steward waiter. He trained so well and hard till He got a job ( in a Hotel that he had helped build with his father.)time passed,He went to college ,changed carrier,Started a family ,changed jobs, won battles along the way and now - He is the Financial Controller of Sarova Whitesands.
